Michael & Claire’s Motion Explosion Lindy Hop classes infuse Lindy Hop dancers with a sense of energetic movement, self expression and emphasizing connection as a dialog of bodies in motion.

Michael‘s style of Lindy blends the culture of social dancing with formal dance training and experience in performance arts.

He is the director of the Motion Explosion Dance Company , where he trains, choreographs, and manages a group of ten dancers working with a fusion of Lindy Hop, Modern dance, Hip Hop and Jazz.

Michael has danced Lindy on-stage with the “Benny Goodman Orchestra” and trained with top dance companies “Loose Change” (Urban Contemporary), “Funk4Soul”(Hip Hop), and with the “The Mop Squad”(Swing) with Manu Smith. Recently he has completed Swing dance choreography for the film “The Nightingale” - a featured selection of the SF Dance Film Festival.

Dancing Lindy Hop for more then 10 years, he danced in 13 different countries and learned from masters such as Frankie Manning and Chester Withmore. He has dance training in Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Studying at SF Academy of Ballet, Lines Ballet School, and training under Hip Hop visionaries Eric Fenn, Micaya, and with renowned Jazz expert Ann Barrett.

Claire believes in spreading the creativity and happiness swing dance inspires.

Since moving to San Francisco in 2008, she has been dancing and teaching with Michael in the Motion Explosion weekend workshops in San Francisco and Israel, and at their on-going intermediate/advanced classes at The Rent Party.

Claire is also a featured dancer with the Motion Explosion Dance Company, and has performed with them since 2010 at dance concerts such as Mission In The Mix (Dance Mission Theater), Dance For Another Day (Theater Artaud/Z-Space), The Nightingale (film), and in various swing dance venues in SF.
